Mathew Mans visited the post to tell us about the Veterans Memorial project for his Eagle Scout Badge. Part of Mathew 's inspiration for the project came from his great-great-uncle who served at Pearl Horbor when it was attacked. They tested the remains from Pearl Harbor and found the remains of Mathew's great-great-uncle who served on the Oklahoma. He is from Wisconsin, his remains were returned to Mathew's mom and he was given a large military funeral. Mathew has been accepted to Marquette Business School for Fall 2026.
The project to commemorate veterans and thier sacrifice: poured a concrete pad, placed a large limestone rock, added a bronze plaque,landscaped the area around it, got them a new American Flag, and added a bench for people to go there and reflect and pray. The memorial is located at The Catholic Ecology Center (CEC) in Neoso, WI along the Rubicon River at the old girls scout camp.
